Earlier this spring I was participating in a special vendor event at a wonderful little vintage shop. Next to me was a young woman who was a bee keeper, and she had jars of honey for sale. Behind her was the "Nut Guy" who had an array of smoked nut products. Behind me was a sign artist, next to her was a water color artist. In the corner was a woman selling house plants.
In my space, I had marble coasters and metal containers with image transfers, upcycled and mosaic glass wind chimes, a reimagined/upcycled book shelf with a glass tile top, barnwood and mason jar garden art, cake stands, flour sack towel signs, and paper collage art. What in the world is my brand, I wondered. The underlying theme in all of my creations is color, whimsy, and unexpected design - my "brand", as it turns out, is Joy.
I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a friend. I am a woman in recovery who loves cats, books, and nature. I am an artist who is inspired by the wonderful people I have known and loved and by the beauty in the world around me. My art reflects the joy I have found in my journey, and I hope it makes you happy too.
